Ever since the 16th Century, the fairer sex has been obsessed with being slim and our male counterparts have been fantasizing about declining waistlines. Corset trainings, treadmill laps, ab crunches and all that jazz has been programmed into our brains and we have been made to believe that slim is synonymous to beauty.
Amidst the usual hullabaloo women get stressed, gorge of chocolates and desserts and don’t realize when the waist accumulates layers of waste and the figure goes out of proportion.

Wear outfits that draw attention towards your neckline and shoulder. Highlighted shoulders would automatically make the waist look smaller. A boat neck or power shoulders for instance, will make your shoulders look broader and with respect to that, the waist would automatically look petite.
A short top and pants that go narrow at the bottom would automatically make your hips appear wider. Consider your hips as the base line of the triangle, as much as you balance your outfit towards the ankle with respect to your hipline, the smaller it will look. That’s the reason flared skirts are such a hit.
4. Posture perfect-
We all remember how our mothers use to fry our brains when they went on and on about maintaining the right posture. Guess what, they were right. While we stand and sit up straight, we appear to be taller. A straight back makes the shoulders look broader and gives a thinner illusion.

Colours can be very tricky, and while we truly believe that black is always beautiful, other hues will work just as well! Darker shades of your favourite colours, colour block styles, ditsy prints and vertical stripes will always do the trick!
