Hanuman Idol

In Hinduism we worship deities not gods as we believe they are one of us who have attained divinity through their courage, determination, kindness and ‘sat karma’.  They were common people who walked on earth many years ago. That is why we have attached a ‘face’ to them. It symbolizes our highest sense of devotion for the Hindu deity.

Hanuman Ji – the supreme powerful god of strength and intelligence is a protector and a doer. He inspires us to work hard with persistence in order to achieve any impossible goal. He destroys all the hurdles and evil that may hinder the process.  

Which Idols to keep?

Several kinds of Statues, calendar and stickers of Hanuman Ji are available online for people to buy in order to guard their family and property from evil. But as per sacred Hindu scriptures, it is forbidden to keep, certain ‘murtis’ or statues of hanuman ji at home,  especially those carrying their weapons of destruction, in a war position or promoting violence in a religious way. It is believed such idol eliminate the positive energy of the house and promotes negativity.

Should be Avoided

Several Hindus establish his idols and images, solo or along with Lord Ram and Sita, to bring their holy presence into their homes. But there are certain idols and figurines which should be avoided-

1. Any picture which shows Lord Hanuman tearing his chest.

2. Any image or idol, which shows him carrying and flying with Sanjeevani Mountain; it represents that he’s not stable in your home.

3. Any picture or idol, depicting his rage on destroying the evil; it ensues raging or negative energy.

4. Any image or figurine, where Lord Ram and Laxman are sitting over his shoulder; it represents that in no way will he put them down to safeguard your home against any evil

5. An image, which shows Lord Hanuman destroying Lanka; any which way Vastu advises against keeping any picture of burning home or land.

6. Do not keep any idol or image of Lord Hanuman in the bedroom of a married couple.

                       Should be kept

Lord Hanuman is a Hindu deity, who’s always been revered and regarded as the protector and the one who establishes the welfare of his devotees. It is a popular belief among his devotees that simply taking his holy name diminishes fear of any kind. So following kinds of his idols are most welcomed and decorated at home:

1. Any picture, which has Lord Hanuman wearing yellow clothes, or any image which shows him with his hand in a position offering his blessings; this will ensure peace and harmony in the house.

2. To boost your child’s focus and attention towards academics, it is advised to place an image or an idol of Lord Hanuman wearing a red ‘langot’.

3. It is extremely auspicious to place an image of ‘Ram Darbar’ (which also has Lord Hanuman in it) in the dining area, or the place, where the entire family often gathers. This will increase the love in the family.

4. Any depiction where Lord Hanuman is shown engrossed in the service of Shri Ram should be placed in your home. Doing this, will boost positive energy and would increase family’s wealth.
