"I was always taught to balance & utilize my time well"- Deepa Malik
She says, "A lot of what I do today is because of the way I was brought up. I was always taught to balance & utilize my time well. At 30, I became a paraplegic. It took me some time to get used to my new body. It was tough. I was already a mother to two young children. Imagine my plight that I couldn't even give my children a bath."

"Be the person you want your Child to be"- Deepa Malik
Mother of two beautiful daughters- Devika & Ambika, Deepa says, "As a mother, you have to be the person you want your child to be. You cannot expect your children to become anything else, if you yourself aren't practicing it. I was tired of the stereotypical image of disability. I hated being looked at as 'bechaari'. This gave me the inspiration to do things to change the view people have towards disability. That's how my NGO 'Wheeling Happiness' came up. My message to every mother is- Contribute to the society, teach your kids the same. Do not live ordinary lives. Motherhood is a tough task. You can lose it as a wife, or an entrepreneur...but never as a mom. I am what I am today because of my two beautiful daughter." Limeroad is proud to present Deepa Mallik, the woman who dares to be different, the super mom, as it's Style Icon. Kudos!
