Dry Skin Care
A broken surface is one of the main reasons for the dry skin core issue, the two main goals being to put it back together again and stop doing things that break it apart. The key to hydrating skin building blocks is to drill skin with ingredients that replenish and restore the skin. These blocks hold skin together just as mortar holds bricks, maintaining valuable moisture where the skin should be visibly improved. Stop Drying & Damaging The Surface Of The Skin By Avoiding These Things:
- Soaps (all kinds and anything in bar form)
- Dry cleansers of any kind (only gentle, skin - softening cleansers allowed)
- Products with aew harsh on skin or skin aggravating ingredients (i.e. alcohol denat, peppermint, menthol, mint, citrus, eucalyptus and any fragrance, whether natural or synthetic)
- Using extremely hot or cold water
- Soaking skin for a long time in the tub or shower will breakdown skin as too much water is as problematic as too little water.
- Abrasive scrubs,hard scrubs or stiff-bristled cleansing brushes that cause micro-tears in skin’s surface
Start giving your skin the things it needs to stay hydrated like drinking a lot of water.
- 1.Wear Sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater throughout the year, rain or summer. It takes only one minute of unprotected sun exposure to start chipping away from the surface stability of your skin. When skin is compromised by repeated, unprotected exposure to the sun, it slowly but surely makes it less capable of holding moisture or feeling smooth, to say nothing about the changes in the wrinkles and skin tone.
- 2.Use moisturizer and serums filled with antioxidants, skin-replacing ingredients, and skin-restoring ingredients to the brim. Skin needs to reconstitute itself, hold on to water, and feel supremely smooth and radiant these are all the crucial elements. Without these indispensable substances on which skin thrives, no skin can be rehydrated.
- 3.Gently exfoliate: An essential part of any skin care routine is to help skin shed built-up surface layers of dead skin as it would if it were hydrated and healthy. Young skin on its own can exfoliate dead skin, but this changes as we grow older. A well-formulated alpha hydroxy acid or beta hydroxy acid exfoliant is the most non-irritating, gentlest way to do this. These types of products imperceptibly reveal the underlying hydrated, smoother, radiant skin.
4.Use boosters that contain plant oils (no fragrant oils) that nourish the skin. Not only do many non-fragrant plant oils have skin-softening properties, they can also replenish the skin with vital lipids and antioxidants that are even gentle enough for eczema-prone skin. Hyaluronic acid is unique in its ability to hold 1000 times its weight in water as a natural substance in the skin. Since skin loses its natural hyaluronic acid content as we age, it can make a dramatic improvement in hydration by returning that ingredient.
5. Keep your lips in mind: Lips are the least able to stay smooth and soft. Day or night, don't leave your lips naked. During the day, applying and reapplying an emollient lipstick, gloss, or balm is essential, and it needs to contain sunscreen during daylight hours.
Constant exposure from heaters or air conditioners to dry environments, cold weather, or low humidity air may also be problematic as they impair and degrade the protective surface of the skin. You can make a world of difference by adding a humidifier to your home!
