Oily Skin Care
Oil’s Well That Ends Well--
The Best Ways to Treat Oily Skin!
Although there may not be an easy cure to prevent too much oil from your skin, there are ways to control this skin condition. You are probably not always in love with your skin with oil and acne. But not all the oily skin is bad. One bonus: your oily skin is less likely to wrinkle than the types of dry skin.
Adjust Proper Skincare Routine with the wide range of Oily Skin Care products available at LimeRoad.
Clean Your Face At Least Twice A Day With Cleanser
Cleaning your face regularly is a simple way to keep oily skin in check. Wash your face twice a day, morning as well as night. Use a foaming soap or facial cleaner over cleaners based on cream or lotion. Foaming cleansers do a much better job of purifying excess oil and making your skin feel fresh and clean.
After you sweat, like after gym class or work out, you should also clean your face (and body if body breakouts are a problem). Sweat can irritate breakouts, resulting in a particular type of acne called acne mechanics.
Oily skin usually requires its own product range, so switch to a skin care regime that is specifically suited to oily skin types, available at LimeRoad.
The following skin care routine is recommended:
Use Cleanser, Toner & Moisturizer Twice A Day, Everyday
Look for cleaners containing sulfur, salicylic acid or tea tree oil–all dissolving excess sebum. As it improves the overall tone and texture of the skin, glycolic acid is also a good active ingredient. Use a mild, alcohol-free toner after cleaning to remove impurities that may have missed your cleanser. Use a light, oil-free moisturizer to finish your routine.
Use An Astringent Every Other Day
If your skin is excessively oily, you can use an astringent to tighten pores and remove oil further, but because astringents contain high levels of alcohol, many find them over - drying and harsh – they should be used every other day at most, and they should never be used after you have exfoliated your face.
Exfoliate Once A Week
Exfoliating is good to prevent clogging of pores–something that often happens with oily types of skin. Many people choose to use an oil-free scrub designed for oily skin types, but be gentle when applying it to the face so as not to irritate the skin.
Apply A Facial Mask Once A Week
A deep-cleaning facial mask containing clay can soak up excess oil, reducing shine for several days. Look for masks that also contain honey or shea butter ingredients that will soothe the skin and prevent it from drying out. These masks may still dry your face over, however, so consider applying them to the oily areas only.
Controlling Shine Throughout The Day
Use a mattifying or oil-control primer or base when applying makeup in the morning. Throughout the day, this will absorb oil, keeping the skin looking fresh and bright. You can also powder your T-zone to soak extra sebum in oily areas of your face: front and nose. If your face often begins to look greasy later in the day, then your friend is the oil-control paper. These are great to blot away shine for a quick fix. These papers also tend not to dry out the skin and can be used over makeup. After blotting the face, a dusting of translucent powder can be applied two or three times a day to cover up extra brightness.
