Royal Blue Blazers For Men

A navy blazer is one of the core garments a man should own if he lives in a large city, near the water, or has a lifestyle where the wearing of suits and sports jackets needs to be bridged. Technically, blazers are more formal than light colored or rough weave sports jackets and about on par with a suit worn without a tie and loafers. If you want a royal blue blazer, you’ve come to the right place.

MATERIAL

  • Flannel Blazers

Flannel is a great choice for a winter blazer as it is thick and heavy, and it doesn't breathe very well.

Although this can cause a lot of moisture to get trapped against the body, it also means that a lot of heat is trapped against the body as well.

A royal blue flannel blazer would look pretty good in winters.

  • Linen Blazers

Linen is a popular choice for a summer jacket or blazer because of its incredible ability to keep someone cool.

A linen blazer will be incredibly lightweight, but it will also wrinkle easily and stain easily.

Also, poor quality linen has a higher risk of breaking.

A royal blue blazer made out of linen is hard to wash but is worth it.

  • Polyester, Nylon, and Rayon Blazers

These materials are a bit cheaper than all of the other materials, which makes them perfect for a man who is looking for a blazer on a budget.

Polyester, nylon, rayon, and the other synthetic materials don't breathe particularly well, they trap moisture and heat, and they also look cheaper when compared to other fabrics.

However, these synthetic materials do stretch a bit better than most other fabrics, which can make them great for gaining a bit of extra comfort.

These materials are often blended with other, more expensive fabrics in order to make a decent blazer at a reasonable cost.

A royal blue blazer will look very cheap if made out of any one of these materials.

  • Silk Blazers

Silk is an especially comfortable, breathable, and luxurious fabric, and the price tag on any silk blazer will reflect this fact.

Silk is cool to the touch and feels great on the skin.

One downside to silk is that it can react poorly to excessive perspiration.

A silk blazer which is royal blue in colour would look gorgeous on a man of an ideal stature. Since it is a dark colour, you may sweat a lot.

Fitting

  • Shoulder

You want the shoulder seams of the blazer to end where your shoulders end.

You should see no divots or wrinkles on the shoulders anywhere.

The shoulders should lay perfectly flat, with no divots or rumpling or pulling on the shoulders.

If you have more rounded shoulders, the seam should still end in the same place, you would just need a little more padding in the shoulders to make them appear less rounded.

  • Body

With the top button fastened, the blazer should lightly hug your midsection.

It shouldn’t be pulling at the button, creating an ugly “X”. The X means it’s too tight.

If it’s roomy around your waist area, you can have a tailor take in the sides of the jacket so it fits properly.

  • Colour

The collar should rest against your shirt collar, which in turn should rest against the back of your neck.

All of these should touch lightly, without significant gaps in between.

  • Armholes

They should be high, but not so high that they’re cutting into your armpit.

They should be large enough that you don’t notice them, but not so big that you have a few extra inches between your armpit and the bottom of the hole.

The arms should be able to move somewhat independently of the jacket’s body during normal motion, but not too much.

  • Button Stance

The blazer’s second button from the bottom should lie just above your belly-button, no more than about an inch above and never, ever below.

Loosen Up!

Don’t stress yourself! Limeroad will give you the blazer that will fit you perfectly. With the use of specified filters, you can search for the royal blue blazer that you want.

Why invest in a well-tailored blazer?
Before you go out to the store and buy a blazer, please take into consideration this maxim: buy quality, cry once. Buying cheap just to have a blazer will not benefit you today, tomorrow or ten years from now. Investing in a blazer tailored to your measurements will make you look better and will save you money. With proper care, a blazer of quality fabric, buttons, and stitching will outlast anything you buy off the rack.

Will the blazers shrink?
A blazer is a complex garment made up of multiple layers of different materials, usually the exterior shell fabric, at least one layer of canvas and/or fusible interlining to provide structure, and an interior lining. Unless the material is not as such, the blazer will not shrink.

What is a Blazer?

How long should a blazer be?
The length of your blazer will dictate how “balanced” your upper body is to your lower body. The blazer should end around mid to lower crotch. A tailor can shorten your jacket up to an inch without messing up it’s proportions, but they can never really let much out because there’s no fabric there. Overall, you generally want this part to already be perfect when you’re buying a blazer, even off the rack.

Royal Blue is a deep to dark blue, often with a purple or faint reddish tinge. It will most probably go with a bright colored pant or else when in doubt, it is best to go with a black pant.
